Elinor Tolley has painted all her life and held numerous exhibitions in Oxford during the 27 years she has worked in the Genetics Unit of the Biochemistry Department.

From 1987 to 2001 she had regular exhibitions at the Stables Gallery, Green College. Now retired, still living just outside Oxford, and able to devote full time to art, she has been exhibiting in London.

Ordinarily she works in oils or watercolours, but the paper mosaics are a technique she recently found fascinating to do. The paper used is mostly from Sotheby's Preview Magazine, chosen for the colour photography and the quality of paper.
